Castello di Monterone historical hotel of Umbria – The Park
|
A walk around the rose garden with more then two hundred plants of roses arranged on a roof terrace that overlooks the Umbrian countryside and the centuries oaks that protect the two cloisters with their shadow or pause under the Banksia rose, an antique 'sarmentosa'that opens as un umbrella, with its small white flowers shading to the entrance of the castle. This is a plant that has at least seventy years of life and most likely derived directly from the first imported specimens in Italy at the beginning of the twentieth century. Beyond the walls of the castle opens a park and the opportunity to walk along the path that surrounds the property, passing through olive groves and oak trees: two steps in the heart of Umbria.
